Dr. Shivaprasad Marulendra has served the GI health needs of the residents of Mercer County and adjoining areas since 1996. He is the cofounder of Premier GI, a division of Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey (GANJ), along with Dr. Punitha Shivaprasad. Dr. Marulendra is board certified in Gastroenterology and is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Marulendra completed his GI fellowship training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA, in 1996. Prior to that, he served as the fourth-year Chief Resident there, after completing his residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit. Dr. Marulendra earned his medical degree from Bangalore Medical College in India in 1988 before completing his internship in internal medicine from Nassau County Medical Center in Long Island, NY.
In addition to having attending physician privileges at RWJ Barnabas Hospital at Hamilton and Penn Medicine at Princeton, Dr. Marulendra is also affiliated with the Surgery Center at Hamilton and the Mercer County Surgery Center.

Dr. Tarun K. Sharma is a gastroenterologist based in Mine Hill, NJ, in Morris County. He is a member of Digestive Disease Consultants of North Jersey PC, a division of Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey (GANJ). In private practice since 2010, he joined the team at GANJ in 2023.
He is certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Sharma completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Allegheny General Hospital’s Dexter School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His residency took place at UMDNJ-Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ. In addition, he received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Sharma earned his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University, graduating Cum Laude, where he was also a member of the Pre-medical Honor Society.

Dr. Kamal Amer is a member of Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey, with offices in both Paterson and Woodland Park. A Palestinian-American who grew up in Paterson, NJ, Dr. Amer has established strong roots in the local community and understands the unique health challenges experienced by its diverse population. In addition to being fluent in Arabic, he speaks both Spanish and English.
Dr. Amer is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Association of Liver Disease, New Jersey Medical School, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. He joined the team at GANJ in 2023.

Patricia Kraycinovich has been in the medical field for more than 20 years. She is both a licensed RN and APN. She received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Saint Peter’s College, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Ramapo College, and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Adult-Gero Advanced Nurse Practitioner from Rutgers University.
One of the most rewarding and fulfilling aspects of working in this field, she says, is having a role in both patients’ diagnosis as well as their treatment plan. Prior to joining the medical team at GANJ, Patricia worked with single, private practitioners as well as at Columbus Hospital LTACH and Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Parthiv Raval is a Gastroenterology Specialist with more than 35 years of medical experience. He received his undergraduate degree from Kasturba Medical University in 1987. He completed his internal medicine residency at Catholic Medical Center, New York, where he was Chief Resident.
His gastroenterology fellowship was completed at Catholic Medical Center in 1995. Dr. Raval was the former Chief of Gastroenterology at Barnet Hospital, Paterson, NJ. He is currently an attending physician at St. Mary's Hospital, Passaic; and St. Joseph's Hospital, Paterson. He has received numerous awards including multiple Patients' Choice Awards and Compassionate Doctor Recognition awards. Dr. Raval resides in Totowa, NJ, and enjoys traveling, swimming, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Aakash Aggarwal is a member of Hackensack Digestive Disease Associates. His clinical focus is General gastroenterology, esophageal disorders (including acid reflux, dysphagia, achalasia, etc) Quality improvement, and colon cancer screening and prevention. He is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is also actively involved in research and has presented at various national and international conferences.

Alyssa Parrish is an AANP board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
