Dr. Joseph G. Shami is a board-certified physician in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His clinical focus includes performing high resolution esophageal manometry, pH testing and Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication or TIF.
Expertise
During his time with GANJ, Dr. Shami was also Emeritus Chief for the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, totaling 14 years overall in the position. He was also a clinical assistant professor at the School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ, for 20 years.
Education & Training
Dr. Shami completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, Italy, and earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ
