What is the ORBERA balloon?

The ORBERA balloon is a durable gastric balloon made from soft silicone inserted in the stomach. Over six months, the balloon encourages your body to adapt to healthier portions. The shape and volume of the balloon are tailored to the specific patient. The standard target range for the ORBERA balloon is three times more weight loss than diet and exercise alone.

Is it a non-surgical procedure?

Yes. There are no knives, no cutting, and no scars. The gastric balloon is inserted orally through your esophagus and placed directly into your stomach during a quick, nonsurgical procedure.

Time for this procedure rarely exceeds 30 minutes, and your weight loss journey begins when you get home the same day.

Is the procedure permanent?

No, the lifetime of the gastric balloon ends at six months, and from there, the aftercare will begin. The physician will remove the balloon using a safe, nonsurgical procedure very similar to the initial placement. Again, there are no knives, no cutting, and no scars.
What happens during the first six months?

Considered the most crucial months of your new life, many patients should take this time to develop healthy eating habits. Most weight loss is achieved in this period as you learn to use ORBERA to your benefit. Constant communication with your physician and support team is crucial to maximizing the benefits of this innovative weight-loss system.

Who is qualified to perform this procedure?

Only qualified physicians who have completed specialized training may perform the procedure. We are pleased to announce that our very own Dr. Ariy Volfson is qualified and excited to assist you on your weight-loss journey.
