Benjamin L. Biederman, MD

Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Benjamin Biederman joined us from the New York University Grossman School of Medicine, where he earned a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Education & Training

Dr. Biederman earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University in Durham, NC. He then received his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

He completed his internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY where he served as an assistant chief resident and then went on to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at New York University, during which time he earned accolades for his professionalism and dedication to patient care.

While at NYU, Dr. Biederman developed curriculum, designed kits and led simulation sessions to instruct gastroenterology and critical care faculty on proper Sengstaken-Blakemore tube placement. He is ACLS and BLS certified.

Before joining the team at NYU, Dr. Biederman served as Assistant Chief Resident at New York–Presbyterian Weill Cornell Hospital Center, where, in addition to completing a three-year residency, he helped lead education curriculum. Dr. Biederman earned his medical degree from New York Medical College, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in evolutionary anthropology at Duke University in Durham, NC.

Driven into the field by a close family member with a gastrointestinal illness, Dr. Biederman is passionate about providing the most empathetic, personalized, and attentive care possible to his patients.
