Dr. Michael J. Martino is a gastroenterologist at Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey (GANJ) and was board certified in 1987 in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

He was previously certified in gastroenterology for 20 years and plans to reapply for certification in this subspecialty in the future.

Prior to his position at GANJ, Dr. Martino was an instructor at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Bay Shore, NY and a clinical instructor of St. George’s University medical students at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ.

In addition, Dr. Martino was a member of the Credentials Committee, Chairman of the Nutrition Committee and Search Committee Chairman for the Department of Medicine at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Martino completed a fellowship in gastroenterology as well as a residency and an internship in internal medicine at St. Joseph’s. He also completed a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree from Universita di Roma in Rome, Italy, where he graduated with honors, and a Master of Science degree at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ.

Dr. Martino is currently a member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
